FAS To Consider Yandex Case On June 9th

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia will consider the case against Yandex for failure to comply with the requirements for search issuance tools on June 9.

As stated in the message of the service, the applicants will be participants in the Internet search market, whose services are similar to those of Yandex. Yandex service providers are also invited.

It is also noted that by June 3, both parties must provide the FAS with all the necessary information to ensure an objective, comprehensive and full consideration of the circumstances of the case.

It is noteworthy that as part of this case, the FAS is going to analyze the actions of Google and other search engines in the Russian Internet search market.

Recall that the FAS filed a case against Yandex on April 13. The organization did not comply with the February 20 warning issued by the antitrust authority and continues to create discriminatory conditions in the Internet search market.

Last summer, online services ivi, Avito, CIAN, Profi.ru, Tutu.ru, Drom.ru, 2GIS and Zoon wrote a complaint to the FAS about Yandex’s abuse of its dominant position in the search market.
