In Yandex research, titled “FMCG: The Effects Of Self-Isolation”, a number of key commerce categories were surveyed – one of these being online food sales and the food delivery market.
When users were surveyed, it was found that:
- 25% of those who responded bought food online much more than they had previously
- 38% of those who responded bought food online somewhat more than they had previously
- 27% of those who responded bought food online somewhat the same amount as they had previously
By contrast, 4% reported they bought food online less than prior to isolation, and 1% much less frequently.
