The Number Of Yandex Plus Subscribers Has Reached 9 Million

The number of Yandex Plus subscribers in the first quarter of 2021 reached 9 million and increased by 141% compared to the same indicator at the end of the first quarter of 2020. Such figures are contained in the company’s financial statements.

It is noteworthy that according to Yandex, at the beginning of 2021, the total number of Plus subscribers was 8 million, of which more than 1 million came from Yandex.Taxi. Group Managing Director Tigran Khudaverdyan said then that subscription Plus is one of the strategic components of the company’s ecosystem.

The growth in revenue from sales of a single subscription to Yandex services is associated with an increase in revenue for the entire Media Services segment of the company. In the first quarter of 2021, revenue in this segment increased by 143% compared to the same period in the first quarter of 2020.

In addition to subscriptions, the Media Services segment includes Yandex.Music, KinoPoisk, Yandex.Afisha, as well as the Yandex.Studio production center.

Note that for the first time the company disclosed the number of Russian Yandex.Plus subscribers in October 2020 – there were 5 million of them.

Yandex.Plus owners receive cashback points for orders in Taxi, Drive, Food and Shop, and other services. A percentage of the order amount is returned to the account in the form of points, which can be spent to pay for new orders.

Recently, Yandex.Market has launched the Feedback for Points service, which allows sellers to reward customers who leave reviews with Yandex Plus points.
