Yandex Changes Review Responses & Management Methods

Yandex has changed the way it works with website reviews. Now site owners and webmasters will be able to respond to user comments only in Webmaster. The new rules will make communication with users better and more trustworthy.

Comments from unofficial accounts, as well as multi-level reply threads from unverified accounts, have been removed. This is how Yandex fights against the spread of reviews from fake accounts, which attackers can pass off as answers from site representatives.

You can view ratings and respond to user comments in Webmaster in the “Site Quality” – “Reviews” section. It contains comments about the operation of the site, as well as reviews of the organization if it is registered with Yandex Business and the site is specified in the company’s settings.

If comments are found that are not related to the site or company, the owner of the organization can report this to the support team. The appeal will be considered within five days.
