Yandex.Delivery Launches Express Delivery Service From Post Offices

Yandex and Russian Post are expanding cooperation in e-commerce, as well as launching express delivery of parcels and online orders from post offices.

The cooperation agreement will be signed within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In order for the courier to bring the parcel from the post office, users will need to select the “Order express delivery” option in the application or on the Post’s website. It will be possible to receive the order within 60 minutes using Yandex.Delivery or it will be delivered by the own couriers of the Russian Post.

Companies are also discussing expanding e-commerce partnerships. Yandex.Market, which is actively developing online sales of fashionable clothes, will be the first Russian marketplace to get access to fitting rooms, which will be located at the points of issue of orders on the territory of post offices. Market customers who pick up their purchases at post offices will be able to check if the ordered clothes are suitable for them.

Another area of cooperation that Yandex and the postal operator are discussing is the drop-off service for Market sellers.

They will be able to send goods directly to customers through post offices, bypassing warehouses and sorting centers of the marketplace. The service will be especially useful for small shops with a small volume of orders that trade on the site from their own warehouse.

Yandex hopes, together with Russian Post, to create not only convenient services but also fundamentally new scenarios for the delivery of parcels and orders from the marketplace – both for sellers and for buyers. The cooperation of the companies should make online commerce more accessible and help a variety of stores, including small and medium-sized businesses, to expand their presence in the market.

Recall that in March of this year, AliExpress Russia also signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Russian Post, having agreed on the implementation of a logistics development program for the e-commerce market in Russia in 2021-2025.
