Yandex.Food Will Allocate 120 Million Rubles To Support Restaurants

The Yandex.Eda service is launching a restaurant support program, which will receive up to RUB 120 million. In particular, by the end of the year, the service will zero the commission for self-pickup of orders from establishments and provide restaurants with a week of advertising support free of charge.

The program was developed jointly with the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia. Its main task is to support the operation of restaurant halls and to protect their employees and visitors. Support measures will be in effect in all 130 cities of the service’s presence from October 26 to December 31.

Independent restaurateurs and chains, with no more than three establishments, will be able to use the support. The option to order takeaway from these restaurants will be added automatically. The zeroing of the commission for self-pickup, except for bank acquiring, will be valid until the end of the year for both new and existing partners. Restaurants can opt out of this feature at any time if they wish.

Yandex hopes that self-pickup will allow restaurants to reduce logistics costs and unload the halls, while increasing their traffic, as well as minimize contacts between visitors and employees.

As an additional security measure, by agreement with the Moscow Government, couriers cooperating with Yandex.Eda and restaurant employees will be able to get a flu vaccination free of charge. Establishments will return temperature control for couriers when placing an order, and the dishes themselves will be delivered contactless.
