Yandex.Metrica Improves The Algorithm For Detecting Bots

Yandex.Metrica improves the algorithm for detecting robots. The update will help to even more accurately separate the visits of real users from the visits of bots, even the newest ones masquerading as people.

Robot data can be viewed directly in the report as a separate metric.

This will allow you to see the share of robotics in the total traffic volume and in the context of each channel in any report. Now it will be possible to clearly determine which channel brings quality traffic and attracts real users, and which does not.

By default, the reports will show traffic cleared of bots, those that have explicitly presented themselves.

The ability to take into account the visits of all robots in reports will no longer be available to reduce the likelihood of errors in data interpretation. At the same time, visits to such bots can be viewed as before in the “Robots” report. This is useful, for example, to check that the site continues to be indexed by search robots.

From the end of summer, Yandex will gradually begin to connect the update to some Metrica users. The update will be available to everyone in the fall.

As a reminder, the Robots report with the ability to manage their filtering appeared for the first time in Yandex.Metrica in 2013.
