Yandex Plans To Offer Loans From 2022

Yandex plans to launch loan products in 2022. This is stated in the review of VTB Capital, which organized a roadshow for the Internet company (meetings with potential investors that do not oblige them to make deals).

According to VTB Capital, Yandex intends to start pilot projects in the third quarter of this year. In particular, we are talking about low-risk products related to e-commerce (for example, the “buy now, pay later” scheme), as well as services within the Yandex.Plus program.

Now the Internet company is forming a team in the segment of financial services and developing their technological core.

A Yandex spokesman declined to comment on the analysts’ report. He also did not name the timing of the launch of financial services.

As a reminder, at the end of April Yandex entered into an agreement on the purchase of Acropolis Bank. As a result of the deal, the company will acquire the Acropolis licenses, including the universal banking license.

And in the spring of last year Yandex filed applications for registration of 17 trademarks related to financial services, including: YaBank, YaKredit, YaBirzha, YaBroker, YaVklad, YaKapital, YaStrakhovka, “YaSchet”, “YaPortfolio”, “YaSaving”, “YaSaif”, “YaValyuta”, “YaTrade”, “YaAktsii” and “YaKash”.
