The press office told RIA Novosti of VK (VKontakte) that yandex.ru which is Yandex’s former homepage now becomes dzen.ru portal and will be managed by VK. Users trying to go yandex.ru or zen.yandex.ru homepages will automatically be redirected to dzen.ru.
It is specified that the following is presented in the portal: content from the authors of ‘Zen’, ‘Yandex’ search box, ‘News’, and the weather.
VK and Yandex announced the closing of an asset swap deal. As a result, Yandex received the Delivery Club food delivery service, and VK received the ‘Zen’ and ‘Novosti’ content platforms. Yandex notified that it would give up the news aggregator and will progress in developing ya.ru as its new home page which will now become the main entry point to Search results, Mail, and other company services, including the user’s personal account ‘Yandex ID’.
