Yandex To Close “Mirror” And Other Low Priority Projects

Query Monitoring appeared in Yandex Webmaster

Yandex will close or stop supporting several non-priority projects due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and refocus resources and development hours elsewhere.

Via press release, Yandex confirmed that they will abandon the development of non-priority services that require significant support resources:

This is done in order to redistribute the efforts and attention of the team to promising projects and not to slow down the pace of development. Separately, we note that the closure of the Radar top will not affect the other analytics tools that our partners use.

Only public demonstration of data will stop, however, all our analytical tools remain available to our partners and advertisers.

In particular, this will affect the content aggregator of the Lifestyle product Mirror, as well as the Yandex.Store Android application, which will be supported until September 1st.

Starting July 2, the Yandex.Radar site UI graphs will display audience data only for Yandex ecosystem sites, and the new calculation methodology will be based only on internal metrics.

The company will continue to calculate the shares of search engines and browsers, and the team involved in rating support and interaction with the platforms will switch to other projects.
