According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the daily audience of the Yandex.Zen platform amounted to 20.5 million users and increased by 35% compared to the same indicator in March 2020.
Note that according to Yandex data for December last year, the daily audience of the platform was about 20 million, thus, in the first quarter of 2021, the increase was half a million users.
The growing popularity of the service is explained by the expansion of the range of content formats presented on the platform. So the share of time that Zen users spend watching videos is about 25% of the total time of users on the service.
According to the current quarterly report of Yandex, the revenue of the segment of Other business units and initiatives, which includes Zen, the direction of development of unmanned vehicles (Yandex SDG), Yandex.Cloud, Yandex.Education, Devices and Yandex.Services, increased by 171% compared to the same indicator for the first quarter of 2020.
