Zen Shines Spotlight On Breakthrough Channels

Through their official Zen channel (the Zen Magazine) they have begun to shine the light on new and emerging Zen channels.

It’s obvious from all the enhancements, features, and additional support the Zen team are putting into Zen as a whole, including the addition of product widgets, that the team are seeing Zen as a powerful medium for content in the Russian market – and see it’s potential outside of traditional search (and revenue generation through Yandex.Direct advertisements).

By including emerging channels in blog posts, highlighting them to the wider community will give them a positive boost – but also show other channels they too may get some time in the limelight, thus encouraging all channels to work to get their 5 minutes.

Some of the channels being highlighted by the Yandex Zen team are:

  • Fashion Dolls – A channel that features Barbie Dolls (and other dolls) in custom poses and fashion clothing.
  • Crazy Pinglish – An English lessons blog.
  • Alexander Murashev – A blog curated by a known author and editor, writing about facts and curios from around the world.

One thing they all have in common is none of the content is commercial first, entertainment second.
