Zen Will Pay Bloggers 4 Billion Rubles ($53.9m) In 2022

Zen’s head of contnet, Rinat Nizamov, has told the publication Vedomosti that Zen will pay bloggers 4-billion Rubles in 2022 for content.

This is two times more than in 2021 (2 billion rubles) and almost 4 times more than in 2020 (1.1 billion).

According to Nizamov, are already earning six-figure sums a month.

The increase in the budget is due to the fact that from December this year the company will start paying bloggers money for viewing and reading their posts, as well as for attracting new subscribers to the channels.

The new payments will complement the existing monetization. Now the main income comes from advertising. Also, authors can receive for posting new formats. For the publication of videos, bloggers can earn up to 300 thousand rubles . per month. The maximum payment for posts is up to 400 thousand rubles.

New tools for monetizing work with subscribers will allow Zen to effectively compete for authors with other content platforms and social networks, in particular Telegram, YouTube, TikTok, VK, says Nizamov. He confirms that the company launched a bot in November that converts content from Telegram to Zen channels and is now developing the same tool for other online platforms. According to Nizamov, over 1000 Telegram channels were connected to Zen through the bot in the first month.

Recall that in September 2021, the monthly audience (desktop audience) of Zen was 22.2 million Russians over 12 years old (Mediascope data).
