Yandex is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The search engine was first introduced on September 23, 1997, and on the same day, the yandex.ru domain was registered.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin sent his congratulations to the Yandex team, noting that “in two and a half decades, the company has become the largest search engine and Internet portal, and has become a recognized leader.”
Notable Recent Changes
In September 2022, yandex.ru ceased to be the main page of Yandex, it became the dzen.ru portal as a result of the sale of Zen and VK News services.
The main page of Yandex is now ya.ru, it will become the main entry point to Yandex services: Search, Mail, and others, including the Yandex ID user’s personal account.
