The Russian Ecommerce Market Grew by 43% in the First Quarter of 2022

The Russian eCommerce market in the first half of 2022 reached 2.3 trillion rubles, which is 43% more than in the same period last year. In 2021, the market showed growth of only 13%. According to experts, the explosive growth of the market was caused by the imposed sanctions.

The response to the resulting shortage of goods was the development of private labels, which are actively registered on Yandex Market, Ozon, etc.

The growth of the market was also influenced by the round-the-clock delivery service and the sale of additional services by marketplaces to their sellers (advertising). According to Ozon’s Q2 2022 report, services revenue in this period exceeded goods revenue for the first time.
