Webmaster launched a new tool to check links with errors. Such links take users to pages they did not intend to land on and pages that do not answer the user’s search query.
A link will be considered broken if an error is found in the URL or a change in the page address.
All information about problematic jumps is displayed in the form of a table with links, their directions (from where they were taken and where they are directed), their HTTP status, and the date the page was last checked.
The new tool will help to learn about the following problems:
- External links
- Internal links
- Outbound links
The Webmaster team also announced that they are opening the Links section, which has been frozen for a long time. For now, it will only display problematic external and internal URLs.
