Mail.ru launched a new domain for emails – xmail.ru. It is available only for moving accounts from foreign services, allowing users to save their login.
To create a new xmail.ru and move emails from other mail.ru accounts, users are required to fill a form.
Registration is open to users of third-party services from August 7th. After moving and transferring the archive, users will still be able to write emails on behalf of their foreign emails.
Also, when switching to a new domain, the former name of the foreign email with the new email address will be preserved. It will start with the previous login and end with xmail.ru. After that, the user will be able to move emails and their attachments from the previous account.
Advantages of switching to xmail.ru:
- Users will be able to store all emails from all their emails in one place.
- Accounts on the new domain name, in addition to the standard 8 GB allowance, will be able to receive 128 GB of Mail.ru Cloud storage as a gift and use the services for one month without ads.
When creating a new mail, the user will be offered standard domain names such as mail.ru, bk.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru or, launched in 2020, internet.ru. However, the most popular is mail.ru – 79%.
From December 1, 2023, registration on domestic sites through foreign mail will be prohibited in Russia. The relevant law has already been signed by Vladimir Putin.
