At the time of writing, there has been no official announcement from Yandex regarding this new search feature – which could mean that it’s just in testing or beta for the moment.
Yandex have introduced a new filter within the main search results page, allowing users to filter for commercial results only.
The new feature appears to the right of the main search results feed, in the same place as special content result blocks:
From the example above, when searching for SEO services (seo услуги), it says that 14-million results have been found and you can filter to only commercial.
Clicking on the link takes you to a new SERP result page, and introduces a new heading into the quick link bar in between Market and News:
This means users can still navigate between the traditional Yandex categories, as well back to the traditional search results page.
Yandex being able to determine webpages based on intent (informational v commercial) shows how far their machine learning algorithms (Vega et al) have come in terms of processing and understanding.
