Unconfirmed February Yandex Update (February 10th)

In the past couple of days, there have been strong signs of an unconfirmed Google update affecting sites globally from February 8th, however, SERP volatility for Russia across the main districts has been ongoing since February 6th, and has peaked today with all verticals showing 9.8+ (out of 10) in terms of SERP volatility showing that Yandex may also be rolling out an update to it’s Russian SERPs.

This is the highest SERP volatility scoring for some months for Google in Russia, higher than when Yandex rolled out the Vega update towards the end of 2019.

This comes off the back of a potential unconfirmed significant update at the end of January 2020, and some definite unrest thus far throughout February.

We have reached out to Yandex, who are yet to reply or make a public comment on the unconfirmed update and vastly increase SERP volatility.
