Yandex.Browser To Block 3rd Party Cookies In Incognito Mode

From version 20.8.3, Yandex Browser users will be able to block cookies from third-party sites when browsing in Incognito mode.

To ensure privacy that meets modern requirements, and even more carefully store user data, Yandex is adding a new feature to its browser product, named Your Tracking Protection (YTP).

It will help limit the work of third-party cookies and independently choose which resources to trust your data (by going to the site), but at the same time retain access to single sign-on technologies and relevant advertisements.

YTP will restrict third-party use of third-party cookies and protect information about user activity on the Internet from third-party trackers. This will allow users to be sure that third-party companies cannot track them without their knowledge, thereby increasing the level of privacy.

YTP will also eliminate the risk of third parties receiving user data without their explicit consent.

In the Webmaster blog post announcing these changes, Yandex have said that:

It is important for us that users see only those ads that will be personalized to suit their needs and interests. This will help reduce the number of unethical trackers and make the market more transparent by reducing the number of dishonest players. The level of user confidence in advertising will increase, communication between the business and the audience will be more efficient and of high quality.
