Forum Chatter: Travel & Tourism Websites Reporting Major Flux On September 7th

Forum chatter from around September 7th has indicated a potential algorithm update affecting the travel and tourism sector.

Webmasters have been reporting significant and widespread changes in ranking performance across large keyword sets, as well as some search phrases dropping from page one to page five (and further).

Yandex has had a relatively turbulent past few months, correlating with the Corona pandemic and fast-changing user needs and demands for goods and services, but in recent weeks the search engine has shown signs of calming down and more “traditional” volatility.

September 7th registered a 7.3/10 on the volatility scale,  and 7.5/10 on September 8th – the highest it has been since July 28th.

We will continue to monitor the forums for any site examples and further information.
