Yandex Browser Enables Alice Audio Assistance

Announced on March 11th, Yandex’s virtual assistant, Alice, now has the ability to read webpages, Zen articles, and news articles to users directly from the webpage – as well as uses in other situations.

As explained in the official blog post, Alice can read a travel article from one tab, whilst you browse other websites in other tabs. You can also use Alice as a form of an audio guide in a museum, by using image recognition and allowing Alice to read relevant extracts from Wikipedia.

If Alice can read the whole page, you will see a button with headphones on the screen.

On a computer, it appears in the address bar, and on a smartphone, on top of a web page.

On the Mobile Browser, click the same button again, and in the desktop, use the remote control on the side panel. On computers, scoring can also be turned on by voice. Just say, “Listen, Alice, read this page.”
