Yandex.Eats Now Features Pick-Up Options

Yandex.Eats users now have the opportunity to pick up their orders from the restaurant themselves, saving on delivery. Pickup is already available at 1,500 restaurants throughout Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Yekaterinburg.

Despite lockdown and isolation measures being loosened over recent weeks, many continue to take precautions and try not to spend time in crowded places. In response to this, the Yandex.Eats team has made it so that users have a choice to order meals with delivery, or pick up an order at a restaurant, bypassing the queues.

You can place an order with self-pickup in the Yandex, Yandex.Eats or Yandex.Taxi applications.

The service will tell you what time to go to the restaurant and notify you if the order is ready earlier. To pick up the dishes, you need to tell the employee the order number. The service is free.

Pickup will help restaurants get additional orders and reduce logistics costs, as well as expand the menu with dishes that are difficult to deliver.

With the launch of self-pickup, establishments that do not work with delivery will appear for the first time on the service window. For example, small coffee shops and bakeries, where queues are often formed in the morning and at lunchtime.

Later, the pick-up service from restaurants will become available in other cities where Yandex.food operates, as well as in stores that cooperate with the platform.
