This is your whistle-stop roundup of the important things you might have missed from the past week in regards to Yandex search marketing, and RuNet users.
Recap
Last week on RussianSearchNews.com we covered a number of topics, including a large number of changes to Yandex’s Webmaster Help documentation.
Rather than link to every change made in the Webmaster Help documentation, I’d recommend reading this summary post here, and then exploring the elements that interest you further.
In more business-as-usual news, we’re seemingly overdue an ICS update – and a lot of tools, and webmasters in the forums, have been reporting ranking fluctuations. There hasn’t been enough flux reported on tools (or a confirmation from Yandex) that an update is happening, but it does look and feel as though one is brewing.
In terms of SEO news, we reported on Russian travel data, showing projected travel behaviours for later this year (pandemic pending), and changes to YaBrowser in how it handles third-party cookies.
Other articles from the week include:
- An exploration of Yandex’s webmaster help documentation and public statements around what the search engine classes as a low-quality webpage.
- We reported on a faux pas made by Yandex Translate in regards to Putin
- We listed a resource containing 45 of the most popular Russian websites
On a more serious note, we also covered the ongoing situation between Yandex and the FAS.
