January so far has been an interesting month as we’re now potentially starting to see the impact of YATI across regional search results on Yandex, although in terms of reported SERP updates January has been relatively quiet in terms of algorithm updates.

This is your whistle-stop roundup of the important things you might have missed from the past week in regards to Yandex search marketing, and RuNet users.

Recap

Last week we published our 2021 Russian SEO freelancers list, based on user reviews from RuNet freelancer websites, as well as our list of Russian SEO consultants (in agency).

In terms of algorithm stability, we covered the unconfirmed IKS update of January 14th, and recapped the Russian Search News Grizzly Bears, a fun visual way of showing how active and volatile the Yandex algorithm is proving to be.

In other Yandex news, Anton Zabannyh has left his post as Head of Verticals, to move into another role within Yandex.

In other news, Yandex have filed a lawsuit against the Moscow FAS division, challenging the decision to fine Yandedx 350-thousand Rubles for a violation of advertising laws.
